PRESS KIT - W RACING TEAM

Dear Member of the Media, welcome to W Racing Team's press kit. Please find below all the key information and content you need.

Motorsport uses many specific terms that can vary from one championship to another, which can make it difficult to follow for those unfamiliar with the world of racing. To help you navigate this, we have put together a WRT Lexical at the end of this document.

W Racing Team, commonly known as Team WRT, is a Belgian company that operates both a world-class racing team and a high-performance manufacturing division. Since its foundation in 2010, Team WRT has become a dominant force in global motorsport, claiming international 72 titles and securing victories in some of the world’s most prestigious endurance races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 24 Hours of Spa and the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

W Racing Team, also known as Team WRT and/or WRT, is far more than one of the largest racing teams in the world: it's a fully integrated motorsport business:

  • a top-tier racing outfit active in the GT and Hypercar categories,
  • it is the official works team for BMW M Motorsport
  • a precision manufacturer of race cars and components for global car manufacturers, such as Hyundai, Toyota, Stellantis…
  • the sole manufacturer of Fun Cup race cars,
  • with its own driver development program and
  • a fully fledged VIP/Hospitality service.

W RACING TEAM is divided into a racing department (Team WRT) and a manufacturing department (WRT Manufacturing).

WRT was founded on August, 15, 2009 by racing driver Vincent Vosse and entrepreneur Yves Weerts and is headquartered in both Bierset, near Liège/Luik, in a state-of-the-art workshop and administrative building and in Kannapolis, North Carolina in the Haas F1 Team building. Current headcount is 200 (160 in Belgium, 40 in US). WRT is managed by two co-CEOs:

  • Vincent Vosse: Owner & Sporting/Technical/Operational Lead
  • Kathleen Schurmans: Business, Commercial & Governance Lead

The company is part of Weerts Group, a family-owned and diversified investment group established in Liège/Luik, operating in the Benelux, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Hungary and Romania. In addition to Motorsport, its main activities include Logistics, Real Estate and Renewable Energy. For more information, visit www.weerts-group.com.

WRT BELGIUM

Team WRT’s new headquarters is a top knotch facility in Bierset, near Liège Airport, officially opened in May 2025. For the first time, all key core activities are in one place: race operations, WRT Manufacturing including their paint & finishing capabilities but also the CEOs offices as well as the business support. This setup considerably improves efficiency, communication and teamwork across departments.

The building is designed for high-performance motorsport and supports all WRT programs, including the FIA WEC Hypercar project with BMW M Motorsport.

Key features:

  • Location: Bierset, Belgium
  • Size: 20.475m2
  • Team: 160 employees
  • Sustainable design: fully electric, heat pumps, LED lighting and 2,000 solar panels planned by 2026 (target: 70% renewable energy)
  • Facilities: a high-tech workshop, ergonomic workspaces and a fitness area.
  • The project was designed by the architectural firm Aural, led by architect Guillaume Vanwerts. Interior design was handled by Weygers, while Lenaerts managed the technical specifications (HVAC, water, electricity). MTS Industriebouw was responsible for the construction, and Croes took care of the earthworks

WRT AMERICA

In September 2025, Team WRT expanded into the United States, establishing a dedicated base to support its North American racing activities, especially the BMW M Motorsport IMSA GTP program. This U.S. base is an important part of WRT’s global structure, handling daily engineering, operations and racing activities.

Key features:

  • Location: Kannapolis, North Carolina (near Charlotte)
  • Based on the Haas F1 campus
  • Team: 40 employees
  • Role: to support WRT’s participation in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with their two BMW M Hybrid V8s.

Victories and Titles

W Racing Team ranks among the top teams in international sprint and endurance racing, competing at the highest level in both GT and LMDh categories, with 72 international titles worldwide and counting.

A selection of our most significant victories and titles:

  • 1-2 Hypercar win – 6 Hours of Spa – World Endurance Championship – 2026
  • Intercontinental GT Challenge Title – 2025
  • FIA WEC LMP2 Championship – 2023
  • GT World Challenge Europe — Overall Championship (Multiple)
    • In 2022 alone, drivers Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts claimed the Drivers' title for the third consecutive year, while WRT also secured the Sprint Cup Teams' title for the 9th time in ten years — a decade of dominance unmatched in the series' history.
  • Grand Slam — All LMP2 titles in debut season – 2021
  • Winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on first participation – 2021
  • 12 Hours of Bathurst – 2018, 2025
  • 24 Hours of Dubai – 2016, 2022, 2023, 2025, 2026
  • 24 Hours of Nürburgring – 2015
  • 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps – 2011 & 2014

What sets WRT apart is not just the number of victories, but the consistency behind them. A clear pattern emerges when looking at our track record: a remarkable ability to win on first attempts — as seen at Le Mans in 2021 and Bathurst in 2018 — combined with the capacity to dominate entire seasons rather than rely on isolated results, as demonstrated in the 2021 LMP2 season and the 2025 IGTC title.

These achievements reflect WRT's competitiveness across both sprint and endurance formats, in the most prestigious international championships in the world.

Find here a Victory Sheet with all of Team WRT's victories since 2009 as well as their second and third places in the most prestigious races.

#ROAD TO SUSTAINABILITY

At Team WRT, sustainability is part of our DNA. Since 2021, we have taken concrete steps to reduce our carbon footprint and support biodiversity. One of our key actions is backing conservation projects in Ecuador, where premontane tropical forests are disappearing at a rate of 9.8% each year. By helping create natural corridors between the Sumaco National Park and the Antisana Ecological Reserve, we contribute to protecting endangered species and restoring fragile ecosystems.

Beyond the track, our vision is to grow as a responsible team, working with our partners to build a credible ESG strategy, where motorsport excellence and sustainability go hand in hand.
